Q: WHAT ARE B-ROLLS?
IMWORX is notorious for creating a visual storyline (from all interviews) chock full of attention-maintaining inserts called B-ROLLS. These inserts are often seen in documentaries and educational videos to support the existing narrative while enhancing the impact of any story.  Where a “talking head” or on-screen speaker can get boring after a while, B-ROLLS keep the audience’s attention with multiple cuts, motion, dynamic graphics and all visuals that support the flow of the sequence.

Budget permitting, pro-cam shoots may be available and integrated in this BRAINTAP project. Meanwhile, our current proposed BRAINTAP list of interviews have estimated 30-40% (or more) of interviews are LOCAL to me, where I can travel to by car (75 mile max) and shoot with PRO-CAM video equipment.  Anyone beyond this radius, travel becomes cost-prohibitive (and beyond the current budget proposed).   *Should client insist on PRO-CAM shoots of interviews from beyond the distance estimated for this budget, client and producer may discuss budget updates permitting travel/lodging costs.

MODULAR AGREEMENT: PILOT
For multi-episode productions such as this BRAINTAP DOCUMENTARY (7 episodes), IMWORX offers a one-time, one episode PILOT agreement expandable to the full budget, or cancellable after 1 episode. By this, the non-refundable retainer supports the 6-week planning/ interview proposal design stage shall also cover the 1st episode deliverable. Upon express satisfaction of the client,  IMWORX may pursue production of the rest of the (6 more) episodes- fulfilling the agreed-upon payment installments.

1) OVERVIEW & APPROACH

a) OBJECTIVES: PRODUCE ORIGINAL CONTENT
By this document, our production aims to:
- offer the types of interviews that offer true insight about the SCIENCE AND the HEALTH ADVANTAGES or BRAINTAP from the performance side
- support or raise awareness about the benefits of the BRAINTAP technology as it was designed
- explore any/all potential healing qualities of BRAINTAP and bring public information (from an impartial user end) any/all health-supportive qualities of the BRAINTAP device and its intended uses

b) SPEAKING TO ITS INTENDED AUDIENCE
This documentary series aims to appeal to several audiences:
- INTUITIVE CONSUMERS INTERESTED IN MENTAL OR BRAIN HEALTH
- THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY
- THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY (clinical practitioners, allopathic, holistic, wellness/functional)
To engage medical community, one recommended approach is a clinical speaker/narrator or interview. Again, because this is not a BRAINTAP production, our speaker (possibly from our HEALTHTECH REPORTER) may offer a scientific and more convincing “claims” in the form of anecdotal findings or editorial statements.

c) EDUCATIONAL STYLE: UNBIASED and UNCOMMERCIALIZED
The producers of this project aim to offer an un-scripted, non-Hollywood look and feel.   We wish to stay away from any 'infomercial' techniques.  Instead, we wish to offer content that shows a deeper understanding of how BRAINTAP works from the user's perspective. We shall also offer narration that tours the audience through each interview to offer a clear and linear storyline.

d) TIMELINE 1
Once my retainer agreement is confirmed, my first objective is to organize and outline my suggested target interviews. The DOCUMENTARY is usually of ONE person, or perhaps several individuals speaking a similar TOPIC or ANGLE.  My outline hopes to cover this under each EPISODE.  (As sequential art, we can call these episodes PART 1 of 7, PART 2 of 7, ETC) . Our joint collaborative panel will review my suggested targets & angles for approval, but I also welcome other targets and angles depending on those users who you have in your roster of BRAINTAP Users that may offer an intriguing story. Once I have my marching orders approved, I shall evaluate which episode to film first. This decision is based on feasibility, budget and (possibly) what the client deems most useful.

 

2) DELIVERABLES
The client shall expect the following from this IMWORX Production.

  1. EPISODES: 5+ minute video clips x 7 episodes (7 separate documentary angles/interviews)
  2. 1 Fully assembled video (the 7 episodes stitched together)
  3. 1 Teaser (30 sec)
  4. 7 or 8 Articles (Text & video embed)

EPISODES
As per prior discussions, documents and proposals since 2022, we have concluded the ultimate version of the project whereby the client can expect:
- A base of 7 "stories"/documentary-style interviews.
- Each production will be produced as separate EPISODES
- An 8th deliverable may be furnished as a stitched-together sequence (running time est 35 mins)
- During production, client shall receive 'RUSHES" or 'ROUGH CUTS" as a window to the final product.
- Each episode may need anywhere between 2-6 weeks to finalize depending on complexity.

ARTICLE + VIDEO EMBED: In addition to the video output, my production team is also aligned with a list of health & wellness social-media shared publications, newsletters and blog-feeds.  By this, All videos shall be transcribed and additional findings in support off that episode are to be published around that episode/interview as both Text and Video embed. This combination is just one of many ways that video and text can be distributed, shared and re-purposed for the promotion of any brand without the marketing stigma.

3) 2024 IMWORX VIDEO FORMATTING: VIDEO LOOK AND FEEL
Documentaries are often a melange of formats and this adds to the realistic and non-commercial, non-slick style. Having a documentary-style look aids in the believability of any piece.  I am dedicated to providing a fair-to-best WebCast quality in every production-including still photos (stock and submitted) and royalty free imaging and footage.  Also, I pay close attention to providing best possible AUDIO quality- where all interviews should be most audible with clear and clean sound. Whether through zoom or in-person shoots, quality audio is paramount in any dialogue situation.  This also goes for our VOICEOVER's/narrators.

Our proposal offers WEBCAST formats- NOT BROADCAST.   To define, BROADCAST FORMAT (4K PROFESSIONAL- 3,840 by 2,160 pixels) is one of the highest & largest file types available in the Pro-Sumer line (used in high-budget, top end professional recording and editing) for standard TV/CABLE signal delivery. WEBCAST (YOUTUBE FRIENDLY) accepts some of the most competitive high-resolution equipment including:
- Zoom-Captures at HD quality
- high res CELL PHONE CAMERA signal (1080 pixel)
- Pro-Sumer HD Cameras
… all are manageable and converted for web streaming.

IMWORX WEBCAST: Using "ZOOM Capture" PODCAST STYLE
INTERVIEWING is a specific art form capturing strong visuals of the speaker using carefully crafted compositions while asking compelling questions that bring out thought-provoking statements from that speaker.  For over 30 years, I am experienced in filming on-location interviews with film cameras and also professional quality (PRO-CAM Super HD) video + pro-lighting and high-res audio equipment. But since the Covid pandemic, ZOOM Capture recordings have advanced to become a major part of video interviews, webinars and news casts and is also now widely used in BROADCAST NEWS.  The 1080-HD function allows ZOOM Capture to output more-than-acceptable quality/resolution for Web-Streaming and is highly manageable in just about every post-production (editing) suite. Meanwhile, ZOOM Capture has become the more favored interview tool for any cost-conscious production.

IMWORX productions combine all 1080-HD quality elements including images I personally filmed (with PRO-CAM), footage purchased from stock libraries as well as high-resolution ZOOM-Captures. As director of most/all interviews, I work with each subject to control composition, lighting, sound and dialogue.

IMWORX produced some effective educational interview productions- much of this is simulating Pro-Cam and Broadcast style at a low budget.  I apply some of the popular & creative post-production ‘tricks’ that simulate cinematic visuals. For interviews who are not local, (where travel becomes cost-prohibitive), "ZOOM Capture" POSTCAST-STYLE RECORDING becomes the cost-effective (budget conscious) solution for the vast majority of the interviews.  To enhance the visual dynamics of my video work, my editing team and I often incorporate high-resolution video (camera-shots) inserts or B-ROLLS  + purchased royalty free licensed footage as well as my own personal footage.
